Today, when I finished my novel, I cried.

Emotions overcame me as I wrapped up the last chapter of the lives of two people for whom I cared about for so long. Their story suspended, they are now relegated to the world of rewrites and query letters.

I thought of my father, who always told me I could do it, but never lived to see this day. I'm sorry you weren't here for me to call you.

I was grateful for my wonderful friend, Kate Messner, who inspired and encourage me along the way.

My husband, who had cooked and cleaned for months, sitting alone while I tapped away on my computer, was waiting in the kitchen, a glass of Grand Marnier poured into the "special glasses"...knowing I would emerge from my writing cocoon at any time, a wannabe developed into an author. Perhaps not a published one, yet, but still....

I so appreciate all of the advice I've received from authors here on livejournal.com. You may not read me (yet!) : ) but I read you!

Cheers! Here's to the people who help and inspire me!
Thank you.

I am a novelist.

Thanks so much! I was stunned when I cried, that's not usually my style. It felt right, though. haha

Thanks! It is incredible...such a feeling of accomplishment. Almost like giving birth (but without the long wait and stitches). Now if only it turns out half as good as my kids.

I appreciate the congratulations! Thank YOU for raising such a wonderful daughter. She is so smart and talented...I just love her. Maybe we can start the Kate Messner fan club! (We'll arm wrestle over who gets to be president! haha)
