DEMENTIA

While I've never minded birthdays, wrinkles, and any of the other indications that I'm getting older, there is one thing that bothers me....forgetfulness.

When should I start to worry? When I walk down the hall at work to the main office and can't remember why I'm there...  : )

How about when I run to the store for three items and can only remember two?  : )

Is it a bad sign when I have to write down every appointment  to make sure I'm there on the right day and time?   : )

MAKE ME FEEL BETTER, HERE, PEOPLE! Do you have tales of forgetfulness that will show me I'm not alone and I don't have Alzheimer's?
PLEASE GIVE AN EXAMPLE OF SOMETHING YOU'VE FORGOTTEN (the worst/funniest/most extreme the better! haha)...

Gosh, where do I start? When Donnie and I were dating, I introduced his as, Danny.
Don't know if this qaulifies as forgetfulness, but a few months ago I came out of a store and headed for my silver Honda Civic. I opened the passenger side door and there was a very surprised woman sitting there talking on her phone. Yep, you guessed it, it wasn't my car. Folks, I wasn't even a Honda Civic! I had parked right across the aisle from her. My hand still wants to pop my forehead when I remember it. Yeah, I'm forgetful, but I remember the stupid things. Sheesh.

This morning they were talking about this post in the office...here is one contributed by Steve. While it may be classified under "harried" instead of "dementia" it is too funny to pass up on it.

"One morning a teacher was running late for work. She pulled up into the side parking lot and ran into the building in order to make it before the kids started piling through the door. When she went outside at the end of the day, there was her car...door wide open and STILL RUNNING!"

I'm just waiting to forget my shoes...or pants...or shirt.

Ack! That sounds like a nightmare I had one time! Oh my goodness, I hope I NEVER forget my shirt. If I do, throw me in the nursing home and slap on an ankle bracelet.

Perhaps they are under the couch...where you found your misplaced copy of Sara Zarr's ONCE WAS LOST.
